Tell me about what you do and why it’s important.

SOJ: Sarah O. Jewelry is a Latina-owned business that creates diamond, gemstone, and custom fine jewelry that empowers you to be uniquely you.

The Denver-based fine jewelry company is distinguished by their ethically sourced natural gemstones and diamonds and their carefully curated design collections. Sarah O. challenges and expands the traditional definition of ‘Fine Jewelry’ through the use of raw and fancy cut rough diamonds and alternative gemstones; in addition to their use of traditional white diamonds.

SOJ: Sarah’s dream of creating a fine jewelry space that welcomes everyone through their doors came to fruition and has continued to grow to this day. Sarah O. Jewelry believes everyone who walks through their doors should feel included and loved no matter how they look, what they believe in, or how much money they have. Sarah O. not only offers one-of-a-kind, versatile fine jewelry but also a heightened fine jewelry experience through their industry expertise and collaborative approach to custom jewelry.  The in-house design team is down to earth and knowledgeable, providing a relaxed yet professional experience.

What sets you apart from other jewelers?

SOJ: Our founder and CEO, Sarah Ortega, hand-selects each unique gemstone featured in any of our one-of-a-kind pieces. Ranging from teal Montana Sapphires to sparkling champagne diamonds, these designs are eye-catching and unusual. Sarah travels to gem shows around the nation to sort through thousands of stones and come home with an unusual and beautiful selection. With each stone meticulously selected by Sarah herself, these designs are a true testament to her passion for creating uniquely exquisite jewelry. Additionally, At Sarah O., sustainability is always top of mind and we ensure our exclusive designs are created with only ethically sourced gemstones and diamonds. Our handcrafted pieces are built to last a lifetime because we believe jewelry is more than something beautiful, it’s a part of your story that can be passed down for generations.

When someone is shopping for an engagement ring how much should they spend or Budget?

SOJ: Decisions about budget are deeply personal to each couple and there is no “one size fits all” rule. At Sarah O. we believe that everyone deserves something beautiful, and we pride ourselves on offering a variety of price points for engagement rings. The center stone is the primary deciding factor for the cost of an engagement ring. Couples can choose from an assortment of natural diamonds, lab-grown diamonds, rustic diamonds, sapphires, and so many other gemstone options. Along with the type of stone, a couple can also select the carat weight, clarity, and cut which all impact the overall price of the ring. No matter what you’re dreaming of, our team will work alongside you to find the perfect ring that won’t break the bank.

What are your most popular styles that you are seeing in 2025-2026 couples are gravitating towards?

SOJ: It’s always so exciting to see what people are drawn to in the world of jewelry, and we keep our eyes on trends all year long. We’re predicting some very exciting trends in 2025 and beyond. The first trend on the horizon is a resurgence in marquise shape diamonds. Recently made popular by Selena Gomez’s stunning engagement ring, the marquise shape looks stunning in a solitaire setting as well as other more unique settings. This elongated shape is the perfect flattering cut for any finger. Next up are half-bezel designs. A bezel setting is an excellent choice for an engagement ring because the metal encasing the stone is very protective of the diamond. A half-bezel setting is still protective of your stone, and it lets in light that makes your diamond really sparkle. Plus, the look is modern, chic, and utterly timeless. Lastly, we predict there will be more Montana Sapphire engagement rings in 2025. These stones are mined right here in the USA and their teal blueish green coloring is to die for. If a colored gemstone is what you want, a Montana Sapphire just might be the perfect stone for you.

Can you customize an engagement ring and/or wedding bands?

SOJ: At Sarah O. creating custom jewelry is one of our passions. We offer complimentary consultations to get the process started. Our design team brings dreams to life by creating truly bespoke jewelry or making sentimental magic using heirloom stones to create something brand new. From engagement rings to wedding bands and fine jewelry, the sky is the limit on what we can create together.

What’s one trend in the jewelry business we should pay attention to?

SOJ: We predict that sustainability will continue to be an ever-growing concern and priority for shoppers. Montana sapphires are swiftly emerging as a highly coveted trend in the jewelry industry. Renowned for their mesmerizing hues and fascinating origins, these sapphires have an extra layer of allure that adds to their intrinsic beauty. As consumers increasingly seek ethically sourced gemstones with unique stories, Montana sapphires are poised to become the epitome of conscious luxury. These amazing natural gemstones are sourced right here in the USA, ethically mined in the rugged landscapes of Montana where their origins are easily traced. For clients who prioritize sustainability,  Montana sapphires are a no-brainer. Not only are these gemstones the ethical choice, but they’re also found in mesmerizing colors that stand out against the stereotypical royal blue color of other Sapphires. We’ve seen a trend of our clients asking for light blue, teal, and sage green stones which perfectly align with the common hues of Montana Sapphires.

Blue Montana Engagement Rings

How much is the average engagement ring?

SOJ: The price of an engagement ring depends primarily on the center stone, especially if you’re comparing lab-grown vs natural diamonds. We offer both natural and lab-grown diamonds in our made-to-order engagement rings to cater to various priorities and budgets. We do our best to inform clients of both and let them decide for themselves what is best. If clients are drawn to the rarity of a diamond and the value that it holds over time, a natural diamond may be right for them. If the price and size of the stone or sustainability are most important, a lab-grown diamond may be the right choice. Our team will help you find the perfect ring that’s right for your budget.

What’s one word to describe 2025 for you, and if you have a word for 2026 please share that as well!
