Vendor Spotlight! Lynn + Lou Paper Co., Wedding Stationery

1. KKWE: Tell us a little bit about yourself and your business.

McKenna + Richelle: We are Richelle Lynn + McKenna Lou, the sister design duo behind Lynn + Lou Paper Co. We have wanted to work together since we were young, so naturally when we both studied graphic design, our path was obvious. Lynn and Lou was started when Lou began a nomadic life following her husband through his grad school rotations. When she realized it would be hard to hold a typical job while moving every 3 months, it made sense to start Lynn + Lou Paper Co. Designing has always been our passion, but what we love even more is getting to know our clients and making friends. Every design has heart behind it, whether it is a logo for a business or wedding stationery. We have the opportunity to design for people who are passionate and excited about the project, which creates relationships we thrive on. Lynn + Lou Paper Co. is a dream come true for both of us, and watching it blossom makes the whole experience even sweeter.

2. KKWE: When you’re working on a wedding or event, how do you usually interact with the other vendors? What is your experience working with wedding planners?

McKenna + Richelle: We love the design process with a planner and bride. The part of the brainstorming process where you throw everything at the wall and see what sticks, oh yeah, that’s our jam! It’s in those sessions that we get some of our most revolutionary ideas, and there is such a burst of creative energy when we all work together to come up with ideas.

3. KKWE: How would you describe your style or aesthetic?

McKenna + Richelle: Our style is definitely bright with a touch of warmth. There is enough monochrome in our lives, so we like to bring in a pop of color and really pack a punch. We love using watercolors in our designs for its fluidity and versatility.

4. KKWE: What or who inspires you in life and in your work?

McKenna + Richelle: Jenna Kutcher!! Can we say it enough? This girl is amazing. She is our business guru and has educated us in so many ways regarding our business. If you have never heard of her before, stop what you are doing right now and check this lady out. She is funny, smart, a total business genius, and on top of all of that, she is real. We want to be the kind of approachable, strong, kind business owners that she is.

5. KKWE: How would you describe your creative process?

McKenna + Richelle: We love to brainstorm together. It is one of our favorite things. We are determined to come up with an idea that our clients will love. If you are ever in a creative rut, get with another creative and throw every idea that you have at the wall. We promise, it’ll get your juices flowing and before long you will have a dozen new ideas to work through.

6. KKWE: What’s your favorite way to unwind?

McKenna + Richelle: Yoga, a spoonful of peanut butter, and a good long bubble bath.

7. KKWE: If you weren’t a designer, what would you want to do?

McKenna + Richelle: Lynn would be a broadway actress/singer, and Lou would be a French professor. Who says there’s not still time to do those things?
