Three Peaks Ranch is a stunning ranch and wedding venue in Westcliffe, Colorado. With 360 degree views of mountains including three very distinct peaks (hence the name), this venue is secluded, inclusive, and sure to make your day one of a kind! We caught up with Daylene Wilkins, Co-Owner of Three Peaks Ranch to talk all things Three Peaks!

1. When did you start your business and what motivated you to do so?

We opened TPR in January of 2020! I have been in the wedding industry for ten years and it has been my dream to open and own a venue. When I found this property I knew my dream was coming true.

2. What would you consider your greatest professional achievement in the past year?

Opening TPR has not only been my dream but I was starting to lose hope that I would be able to realize it. Opening this venue and having the opportunity to see my dream come to life has definitely been my greatest professional achievement this year.

3. What separates you from your competition? What can you offer that no one else can?

We are hoping to provide an exclusive weekend experience to our brides. We want them to be able to relax and enjoy their wedding. We are providing on site lodging that is included in the venue rental and we hope to be able to add more lodging soon. We are also hoping to add hot water soaking tubs and more.

Our venue is remote, quiet, and stunning. We are at the base of a 14 thousand foot peak for hiking and are one of the only certified dark sky counties for star gazing in the states.

When you’re working on a wedding or event, how do you usually interact with the other vendors? What is your experience working with wedding planners?

We love meeting new vendors and seeing their creative talents. Forming relationships with vendors is not only fun but the wedding community in Colorado is really more like a family. We encourage and strengthen each other and I am so grateful to be a part of it.

Wedding planners are real life super heroes. They do so much work before, during and after the wedding and it’s work that no one realizes needs to be done. They design beautiful and unique weddings day after day, they keep the wedding day running on time, they make sure vendors arrive on time and have all the help they need to do a wonderful job and I could go on and on. I am so thankful to know and work with planners, they are essential to a wonderful wedding day.

How would you describe your style or aesthetic?

I don’t think I have just one aesthetic. I’m drawn to many different styles. I love the meaningful mix of elements. I personally feel draws toward purposeful and clean design and light.

At TPR I think our aesthetic is to blend with nature while providing a high end, luxury resort experience. We want to integrate the outdoors and indoors together and keep romance in the aesthetic. Our hope is that anyone can change the space to their own aesthetic easily.

What or who inspires you in life and in your work?

Honestly, I don’t think it’s any one person in specific. I love finding ideas, usually through pictures that get my creative juices flowing. There isn’t any one inspiration but I know it when I see it!

How would you describe your creative process?

I’m usually thinking about what other people aren’t doing and then I want to do that. I love finding processes that aren’t working well and finding a better way to do them. It’s just how my brain works. I think friends and being able to discuss with other and get their opinions helps my process as well. Everyone thinks differently and I love combining all the ideas.
