Now that 2016 is well underway, couples tying the knot this summer are narrowing down their favorite vendors, focusing on engagement photo shoots, and sending out save the dates. Securing the right photographer for your wedding can be difficult, but is well worth it in the end. The relationship you have with your wedding photographer should be close and comfortable; they should put you at ease while capturing the most beautiful aspects of your day.
This week we are spotlighting Tara Bielecki Photography! Tara is based out of Denver, Colorado, and her amazing work has been featured in Magnolia Rouge, Ruffled, and many other publications. She captures the natural beauty in every situation and the rich tones in her images create a timelessness couples can cherish forever. We asked Tara a few questions to get to know her better!
KKWE: Tell us about yourself!
Tara Bielecki: I started photographing weddings as a second shooter for my husband almost eight years ago. After our wedding, I was ready to start my own business and it was perfect timing as my husband just started filming weddings. I have always loved weddings, and have always had a hard time just playing guest – I love helping couples make their wedding day dreams come true and the fact I get to capture these once in a lifetime moments for them to share for generations makes my heart swell.
My greatest professional achievement in the last year has been growing my business in such a way that I have a solid business foundation, allowing for me to photograph weddings for years to come. Getting my first features on wedding blogs has been a highlight as well, I had only ever dreamed of being on blogs like Ruffled, Wedding Chicks, and 100 Layer Cake until now.
KKWE: How would you describe your style or aesthetic?
TB: I am in love with natural beauty and the great outdoors. My images are simple and timeless. I focus on my couples and their emotions to ensure their photos are chic and organic.
KKWE: Who or what inspires you in life and in work?
TB: Nature inspires me the most! My husband and I are big fans of roadtrips and there hasn’t been one trip yet where I didn’t wish I had a sweet couple to photograph along the way! I spend most of the time in the car staring out the window, making mental notes of colors and tones, textures, and locations. I would say my own wedding photographer also is a big inspiration. Her soft, feminine images continue to inspire and motivate me in my own business and challenging my natural eye.
KKWE: How would you describe your creative process?
TB: I am to capture my photos in a very organic way. In order to do this, I love meeting with my couples to hear their story, and I prefer having an engagement shoot with them so they feel totally comfortable with me on their wedding day. I am a very detail-oriented person, so nothing goes unnoticed in my process; this includes my clients! From their welcome gift to the delivery of their photos in an heirloom box, I believe it is these details that makes the process even more memorable and special!
KKWE: What is your favorite way to unwind?
TB: I have a few ways I love to unwind! Adventures with my husband are my absolute favorite, but that’s not always possible! I’ll take an evening at home with my two miniature pinschers anytime and I love a morning in the city grabbing a cup of coffee at my favorite shop.
KKWE: If you weren’t a photographer, what would you want to do?
TB: Well, I really do love weddings, so I’d likely stay close to what inspires me most! If the camera had to be down for some reason, I would likely join a wedding planning team. I’ve assisted a few planners over the years, and I really love nothing more than to see a couple enjoy their wedding day so thoroughly by executing their dreams and ideas!
