This week’s New Vendor Spotlight features the lovely Emily Sacco Photography! It’s easy to tell from her breathtaking photos that Emily has a unique talent, and we wanted to get to know how she works and where she finds inspiration!
KKWE: Tell us a little about yourself!
Emily Sacco: I am a Virginia native who has recently moved to Colorado and I’m so happy to be here! I live such a full life and I’m so grateful that I get to be a full-time artist – it is such a blessing! Throughout my life I have dabbled in pretty much every art form, be it photography, music, theatre, any and all studio art forms. When I was in high school, I borrowed a camera from a friend and I enrolled in a black & white photography course where I learned how to shoot, wind and develop my own film. It was a monumental moment that would change the course of my entire life. Later, I graduated from Longwood University with a Bachelors in Communication Studies. My deep connection to the arts, paired with my uncanny ability to speak to and deeply understand others, is truly what defines the artist within me. Over the past 5 years, I have become a nationally published wedding photographer and I have photographed couples and families throughout the United States and around the world.
KKWE: How would you describe your style or aesthetic?
Emily Sacco: I am a fine art wedding photographer who seeks to capture real moments that are truly unforgettable, while also adding an editorial element of styling. My easy-going, mostly hands-off approach creates relaxed and romantic one-of-a-kind imagery for my couples.
KKWE: What or who inspires you in life and in work?
Emily Sacco: I get inspiration from a lot of different places. The first is my husband. I love so deeply in my own relationship that it transpires into my work. I am also inspired by the natural elements found in our world. Sunlight, water, fire, the wind – all of these substances have unique properties that find their way in my work time and time again. Lastly, I get so much of my desire to create from sound. I am particularly fond of love songs recorded in the 1940’s & 50’s. The crackly recordings speak to my heart.
KKWE: How would you describe your creative process?
Emily Sacco: My creative process is very personal and surrounds knowing whoever I am photographing as intimately as possible. I pay very close attention to mannerisms, relationships, likes & dislikes – In addition to photographing in a timeless and romantic style, I photograph for my subject and that involves me tuning in to what they want and what they need.
KKWE: How do you like to unwind?
Emily Sacco: This is a funny question for me! I feel like I never have to ‘unwind’ because I try so hard never to allow myself to get too stressed out! It’s a vital part of what makes me who I am. However, I do spend hours in the mountains (either hiking, running or sitting on a rock in the sun) every day as a preventative measure 😉
KKWE: If you weren’t a photographer, what profession would you be in?
Emily Sacco: My background is in music, theatre and studio arts so I would probably just be expressing myself in another way! You can’t take the art out of an artist.
Emily’s romantic and ethereal style is the epitome of luxury wedding photography and we can’t get enough of it! Check out more of her work on her website!
